Usergroups in Jiggmin's community are defined by various permissions and features, with the most evident being their distinct username colors.

Groups have different privileges on Jiggmin's Village and the multiplayer games, with each listed below.[1]

Shared[]

Administrators/Super Moderators[]

Administrators (also known as Super Moderators on JV) are denoted by their magenta color and are the most exclusive group, ordinarily comprising of 3 members and Jiggmin.

In addition to moderator abilities, admins:

  • Have access to the "admin" chatroom
  • Can change usernames and emails
  • Can promote a member to mod status or demote them

The admin rank is exclusive to Jiggmin on the forums, with the members instead having the Super Moderator title with the same color. Super moderators can't promote/demote others and are functionally no different from normal mods aside from being able to view when members using invisible mode were last online. They do have access to the Admin's Beach however.

Moderators[]

Moderators are volunteers chosen by administrators to moderate Jiggmin's multiplayer games, the forum or both. They're usually seen looking after a server's main chatroom more often than playing. Mods are given a persian blue color (brown in Platform Racing 3).

Mods can ban members from playing one of the games for up to a year. They're also able to:

  • Give "silences" starting with PR3, which are essentially chat-only bans. For PR2 they instead warn users for up to 60 seconds before issuing a complete ban.
  • Unpublish levels
  • Set the "Level of the Day" in PR3
  • Delete guilds
  • Play on maps regardless of rank or password restrictions
  • Enter full servers
  • Access the "mod" chatroom
  • View reported private messages
  • See a user's IP address and prior bans
  • Change the Artifact's location

Moderators on the forum can:

  • Give infractions, which are varying levels of loss of privileges before a full ban (limit on posts per day, can't have an avatar, etc.).[2]
  • Lock, delete, move, copy or sticky threads
  • Create forum-wide announcements
  • Edit/delete a member's post
  • Access most Legal District sections

Members[]

Members have a teal color (black in PR3) and are the group users start at, having access to basic privileges. Members must be at least 13 years old on the forum to comply with COPPA.

Forum Only[]

Game Moderators[]

Game moderators have a camarone green color and are members who are mods only on Jiggmin's multiplayer games, though they retain access to the Mod Hut.

Typically this rank serves as a transitional period, as most game mods eventually receive a section to moderate before being promoted to a full mod.

Hero of the Week[]

Hero of the Week is a special status given to 1 member for a week. Candidates are voted on by previous Heroes and the staff in the private Hero's Peak section. Once selected, they're given a yellow name for several weeks, access to the aforementioned section, awarded a forum medal and given a Bubble set in PR2.[3]

Only members who've posted at least 5 times in the last week are eligible. Staff are ineligible for nomination, as well as anyone who received an infraction or ban within the last month.[4]

Shadow Council of Nine[]

Shadow Council of Nine were a group of 9 members with access to the special Village Council section. Here they discussed/voted on improvements or actions for Jiggmin to take, with one of their first being the demodding of VforVendetta.[5][6]

The group had 2 incarnations:

  • The first existed from July 2013 to February 2014 and consisted of the 9 latest Heroes of the Week.[7][8]
  • The council was reformed in May 2014 when Jiggmin announced it would instead be voted on by the community via the Voters United section once a year.[9][10][11] Voting began on the 27th and ended a week after.[12] Given the change in procedure, council members were given orange names to distinguish themselves from Heroes.

Games Only[]

Guests[]

Guests are players who haven't created an account and are given a grey color (sky blue in PR3). Guest names are always followed by a string of numbers and are re-usable, thus a person's progress isn't saved when they log off.

Given their temporary nature, guests can't communicate with other players, have friend/ignored lists or save/rate levels.

Platform Racing 2 Only[]

Temporary Moderator[]

Temporary moderators are members who are given limited mod powers that are revoked after they log off. A common myth claimed they also disappeared after 24 hours, but this has since been debunked.[13] While they have a blue name, their profile still refers to them as a member.

They can:

  • Warn and administer a 30 minute ban to users
  • Access the "mod" chatroom
  • Bypass rank requirements on courses

Trial Moderator[]

Trial moderators sit between mods and temp mods. They retain blue names, though their profile now identifies them as a moderator, making it difficult to differentiate them from real ones.

In addition to temp mod abilities, trial mods can:

  • Ban up to a day
  • Lift bans
  • View a user's priors and IP addresses
  • View reported private messages
  • Enter full servers
