The following is a list of glitches, oversights and bugs in Platform Racing 2.

Aside from the "2:00 No Matter What" and "Rank 0 Required" bugs, none have official names and are known by multiple fan-given terms.

Jiggmin's said some of the more well-known glitches (such as "Fly Through Blocks") were patched shortly after the game's release, but backlash caused him to reinstate them.[1]

"2:00" No Matter What[]

If a person entered a map while their computer was in Safe Mode, only default settings loaded:[2]

  • Time limit was always set to "2:00"
  • Every item would be available
  • Normal gravity.

This bug was patched in a March 2010 update.[3]

Bypass Rank Requirements[]

Level passwords take priority over any rank requirements creators may set, allowing under-ranked players to enter a map if they know the password.

Fall Through Corners[]

Certain acceleration stats can cause players to fall through corners of blocks if they're hit a certain way.

Fall Through Vanish Blocks[]

When users touch a safe block that's beneath a vanish block, hitting a safety net makes them fall through the floor since it doesn't vanish when players return.

Fly Through Blocks[]

If players wearing a Cowboy Hat let their head pass through the bottom of a block, holding right/left and up allows them to fly through it.

Frozen Move Block[]

If players press "restart" while testing a map in the level editor, move blocks won't move again until they exit, sometimes with an arrow stuck glowing.

This also happens when they bump a finish block and respawn at the start. Some might move once before freezing however.

Guests in Guilds[]

Since guests have the PM tab hidden, specific restrictions weren't set up to block them from joining guilds. As such, they are able to join via unofficial methods.

This oversight also reveals guests don't have private messaging disabled since they can successfully send messages to other guild members.

Idle Bug[]

Players are automatically disconnected from PR2 after idling for around 20 minutes. Pop-ups open beforehand aren't closed however, with the "Race Complete" one allowing them to press "Return to Lobby" and be brought to an empty server with no account.

As level lists are publicly viewable on PR2hub, they load normally. However players can't enter maps and the chat, online list and their account page are all blank. While player profiles are also on PR2hub, a "You must enter a name and password." error oddly pops up when they try to be loaded.

Infinite Pop-ups[]

When a player clicks a username to open their profile, they can keep clicking to open more windows if they don't move their mouse.

This was partially patched once profiles were updated to include avatars, though it's still possible to do with guests and the Vault of Magics FAQs.

Jump Through Opening Glitch[]

When players ride arrow blocks in an area with 2 blocks of vertically empty space, they can jump a few blocks before a roadblock and land on top of it.

Platform Racing 2 - Jump Through Opening Glitch

Another similar, but unrelated glitch involves the player passing their upper body through nearby blocks to reach a gap.

Laser Gun Glitch[]

If a wall of blocks has a hole right below a ceiling, players with a Laser Gun can jump, fire a shot and be sent through the hole.

Mine Glitches[]

Due to their high knockback, mines are famous for numerous glitches that let players fly through solid blocks.

While these include simpler tactics like placing 2 mines against a corner, there are more elaborate methods that require the user to place them in specific spots all over the room and hold certain keys.

Platform Racing 2 - Basic Mine Glitch

A basic mine glitch.

Platform Racing 2 - Elaborate Mine Glitch

A more elaborate mine glitch.

Move While Charging Super Jump[]

If players charge a super jump while underneath a block, they can move while still charging.

While vanish blocks are typically used since they don't require precise timing, it can work with other types by charging a super jump one pixel before players crouch underneath it.

Moving Blocks Glitch[]

Using a method similar to the "Start Inside Block" bug, players could combine move blocks with other block types, giving them the ability to move while retaining their other properties.

This broke after move blocks were updated in 2013. Instead the normal blocks will move once, then the move block will appear in their original spot. However, they can be walked through and, while they attempt to move, won't go anywhere.

Partially Fall While Crawling[]

While crawling on vanish blocks with an acceleration stat between 27 and 55, an animation error occurs that has players appear to fall before landing on the next block.

"Play" Bug[]

Players initially had access to every option in the right click menu, including "Play" and "Rewind". These caused a variety of bugs, such as items having unlimited ammo and no cool down time.

However, if "Play" was activated and the player clicked the screen, a second window of the game started running on top of their current one. Logging in with the same username caused both errors related to having an account running in 2 locations popping up, although the player's match would still be open in the first window. They could then log in and play as normal.

As their previous match is still open, members could abuse this by entering a course with only a finish block, go through the aforementioned steps, enter a map with a prize, then jump and automatically win it.

This bug was partially patched in May 2010 by removing the default options from the regular right click menu, though they could still be accessed while in settings.[4] It wasn't completely removed until early 2013, except for the zoom, print and quality settings, which were restored in the normal menu.

Play Count Limit[]

Prior to November 2011 level play counts were capped at 8,388,607 due to BH 3 limitations.[5]

Once this limit was removed, levels could have every play logged correctly, however levels that hit it prior to its removal don't have an accurate number.

Rank 0 Required[]

New players were sometimes unable to play any course since ones without a minimum rank requirement would say "Rank 0 Needed".[6]

This bug was patched in March 2010.[3]

Rotate Through Blocks[]

After bumping a rotate block while crawling in an area with no blocks above them, players can pass through walls by holding the up key.

Platform Racing 2 - Rotate Through Blocks

Start Inside Block[]

In the level editor:

  1. Place a line of blocks
  2. Move one to a spot already occupied by another block
  3. Press "Undo", then "Redo"

This allows players to move one of the starting positions inside the affected block without deleting it.

This is one of the most common glitches since mines are usually placed above the starting position to create an unavoidable hat remover.

Swim Through Blocks[]

Players can swim through a block if they position their head low enough and swim upwards.

Similar to "Fly Through Blocks", but not as game breaking.

Platform Racing 2 - Swim Through Blocks 2

This is also possible with a line of blocks, where they usually have to keep their head inside them and swim up once they reach the end.

Swim with Charged Super Jump[]

If players hold up while charging a super jump underwater, they'll start swimming and their character turns deformed as a result. They return to normal after using their super jump by touching the ground again or exiting the water.

Time Glitch[]

While a level's time limit is saved to the game, the countdown timer runs off a person's computer clock. As such they can essentially remove time limits by modifying their computer's time.

This was patched in 2013 by including a check every 10 seconds that automatically reverts the timer back to its correct time.

Trapped in Safety Net[]

This bug only occurs while the map is rotated.

If players touch a safety net placed on top of a safe block, they'll get trapped inside it, with only a partially charged super jump freeing them.

Walk Through Safety Nets[]

This only occurs when the level is not rotated.

When touching safety nets placed above safe blocks, they instead act inactive, letting players walk through them.

Water and Arrow Glitches[]

2 glitches let players pass in-between blocks by using arrow blocks underwater.

The first simply requires a water block placed between 2 basic blocks and an up arrow above it.

Platform Racing 2 - Water and Arrow Glitch 2

The second is similar to the "Swim Through Blocks" glitch, expect the player just latches onto the up arrow then moves towards the down arrow.

Platform Racing 2 - Water and Arrow Glitch

Water and Safety Net Glitch[]

This glitch requires one row of water blocks, one of safety nets, then another of water.

Once a player swims in the first set of water then touches a safety net, the higher respawning point lets them pass through the nets and enter the next row of water.

Water and Super Jump Glitch[]

If players use a Super Jump item while they're underwater and touching a ceiling of solid blocks, they'll fly through them.
