Races are the main game mode in Kongregate Racing and the Platform Racing series where players compete against each other to reach the end of a level first.
Items are usually available in Platform Racing to give them an advantage over their opponents, such as the Speed Burst making them faster for a short time.
Certain hats may also help like the Jump Start Hat, which gives them a 3 second head start by skipping the countdown.
Symbols[]
Races are indicated on the lobby in PR2 and PR3 by an outline of a whistle being blown.
The symbol's white in PR2 to blend with the lobby's design. Although the game started with only races, this was always used on every level from release until other modes were added. It was also used for deathmatches before they received their own symbol.[1]
Instead in PR3 it's a soft blue to match the other color-coded game modes.
Kongregate Racing and PR1 don't use any symbols on their lobbies.
